Description
The Corporation of the Town of Amherstburg is recruiting for a GIS Technician Summer Student.
Under the direct supervision of the GIS Coordinator/Business Analyst, the GIS Technician Summer Student assists in supporting the IT Division in maintaining all aspects of the Town's GIS. Office hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm. Must be enrolled in a college or university program with a concentration in Geomatics, or with Geomatics concentration and/or Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related field, currently entering the 3rd or 4th year of the program.
Individuals applying for summer student positions must meet the following criteria:
- Must be in attendance at a secondary school, college or university and must be returning to school on a full time basis in September, and provide proof of enrollment
- Must be able to start work full-time on May 1, 2023 or the first working day thereafter
- Must be able to work the entire term that was advertised
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must possess a valid Class G2 Driver’s Licence at minimum in good standing
- Must be able to provide copies of required documents (Driver’s License, Driver’s Abstract, Police Clearance, proof of enrollment in school)
